Full Name Karaline Ceres Lodshine-Walker
Nicknames: Kara, Kara Beara, Walker, Foxy Lady, The Queen of Dungbombs
Age/Birthday/Year: December 12th, 1960
House: Gryffindor
Death Eater?: Hell no!
Blood: Definetely not pure! (See Family History)
Sex: Female
Appearance: Probably the tallest girl in her year, Kara stands tall and proud, with curly hair that reaches to mid-back. Her hair is cut in layers, and is best described as ‘spiky’ and ‘wild’, which goes perfectly with her temperament. Her eyes are glittering emeralds which normally have a spark of mischief among them. Her favorite types of clothing are dark slacks, baggy jeans, and parachute pants. She generally wears a dark scarlet top underneath a dark, unbuttoned and baggy blouse. A silver fox pendant, worn with age, rests around her neck. Though the silver may be worn down, the green, tiny emerald eyes on the fox are as bright as ever. Beneath her clothes, scars, faded with age, criss-cross over her body. But she tries not to think about them.
Personality: Timid, sweet, a good little girl…Yeah right. Kara’s far from that. Smart-mouthed to a fault, she enjoys pranks, and lots of them. More then often she’s found in detention. But that never fazes her, and some of the teachers have just about given up on punishing her because she’s never subdued. She cares deeply for her friends and the little family she has left, and would go to any length to help them. Emotional, she can have sudden mood swings at the blink of an eye. And don’t even mention her mother around her, or she’ll either have an emotional breakdown, or bite your head off in a rage.
Talents: Years of practice as a Chaser and of throwing around corners have given Kara amazing aim when throwing items such as dungbombs or other projectiles. Her best classes are Transfiguration, Arithmancy, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. She’s a fair student, not as smart as say, Lily or Remus, but she’s got the brains to go somewhere, if she doesn’t prank the wrong person first! Speaking of pranks, she’s pretty talented in that area. She can always find a prank to liven up a party!
Kara also has another talent, but I gotta go apply for that one.
Weaknesses: Kara’s love of dungbombs and pranks can sometimes go overboard, because she sometimes doesn’t know where to stop. And besides physical scars, she has emotional scars from her mother that can cause her to go into hysterics (See Childhood history). Also, she tends to a bit lacking in the History of Magic class, but she manages to scrape through.
Childhood History: Kara was born to Lucy Lodshine and Jaxom Walker. Jaxom’s grandmother was the daughter of the first witch on that side of his family, and his grandfather was a pureblood. Lucy came from a normal muggle family, and was a muggle herself. Jaxom thought it was love at first sight, but then Lucy showed her true colors. At age three, Kara was taken from her father by Lucy and for the next six years, she lived in the United States. No one knows exactly what happened in those terrible years, but it had a drastic effect on Kara. On her ninth birthday, her aunt Marie managed to take Kara back to London before her mother did any more harm to her. Kara came to her father thin, frail, sporting scars, and scared of any adult. For months she screamed whenever the lights turned out, and was always afraid of adults who approached her when she was alone. At eleven, she was still recovering from those years when she was sent to Hogwarts. The next few years, she recovered much faster, and most of her problems seemed gone when she discovered quidditch. She made friends, somehow found time to study inbetween Quidditch, detention and pranks, and became a much happier person. However, mention those dark years, and you’ll see a drastic change in the wild Queen of Dungbombs.
Family History: Kara’s great-great grandmother, Annelise Morraine, was a young muggle woman who was accepted into Hogwarts. From there on, the descendants of Annelise became witches or wizards. Kara’s grandfather, James, married a pureblooded witch by the name of Elizabeth Shire. They were proud of their bright son, Jaxom, who was serious, but very kind.
Lucy Lodshine, born and raised on the outskirts of London, met Jaxom on a train heading to central London. Before long Jaxom fell in love with the blonde beauty and they married in the spring. Kara was born to them on December 12th, and for awhile, it seemed well. But then Lucy began to use the family’s money in large quantities, and without explanation. She began to not come home at nights. And when bruises began to appear on the now-toddler Kara, Jaxom confronted her. A raging fight ensued, and Kara was kidnapped that night. What Lucy did to Kara in the six years that followed will remain a secret, for Kara has refused to tell anyone. Rather, she was unable to, fear kept her tongue silent.
Relationships: Kara never really got into the whole relationship thing. She is too afraid of letting someone close to her, and so keeps an uncaring, wild exterior. Deep down, however, she would like to have someone by her side. She would like to have someone that would not mistreat her, someone who could be her best friend and something more.
What made them who they are today: Despite the terrors she had suffered as a child, Kara’s strength has grown thanks to her friends. Her strength, determination, and deep caring for her friends crafts her into the friend you’d want by you at tough times. She is much more open now then she ever was as a child, and continues on growing, becoming a person she wants to be instead of someone as her mother. Her father’s careful support in those dark times, and her aunt’s courage in bringing Kara away from that house in North Dakota inspires her to be stronger, to help others as much as she can.
Sample post: This is as Kara on Chosen 8
Why was it everytime Kara tried to be a good girl and plan something, she ran late? And when she didn't plan, she was early? Up in her dormitory, she finally came out of hiding as Parker left, and rushed to find an outfit. Bloody hell, she couldn't find any of her outfits, besides an off-shoulder dress Parker had given to her as a joke, saying it would 'attract the guys to you despite the dungbombs!' Kara had laughed and tossed it in her trunk. Neatly, of course. And now, she couldn't find anything else! Who's bloody idea was this?! When she found out who had swiped all of her jeans, she'd give them a piece of her mind...
But what you had to take what you had. With an expression like she was dying, she shrugged into the black dress. The top was rather loose, and the neckline lower then what she liked. It tightened at the waist then flared out with a slit mid-thigh, and ended just below her knees. No offense to Parker, but she felt like a slut in this thing. She preferred tank tops, open-blouses and jeans or parachute pants. Not dresses. She looked around for a brush, and snatched Parker's, running it through her dark brown, spikey hair, pulling her bangs forward to give her a bit of a 'mysterious' air. If she had to wear the dress, she was going to add her own qualities to it. Little leaf-shaped, gold earrings adorned her ears, and whenever she moved her head, they made a small chiming sound. Her fox pendant was out in the open today, and thankfully, only James knew what it meant. Hopefully he wouldn't try anything funny at Parker's party.
She finished the outfit with black ankle boots and looked wildly around for her gift. After digging through her trunk, she found the hastedly-wrapped parcel. It wasn't much, but inside were some assortments. A special, near-top of the line guitar-care set, she knew how much Parker loved her guitar. Which is why they were going to try to shove her on stage to play. With luck, she wouldn't make too much of a fuss. And of course, chocolates in the package. She gave a slight smirk at that, every girl needed chocolate. Especially on her 17th. And to top things off, a fake dungbomb. It was about time that Parker got into more pranking, or fake pranking. She needed a break from schoolwork and all that bloody stuff!
Without even thinking, Kara threw herself out of the dormitory and thundered down the stairs, passing a few third years who stared at her blankly. Probably because they didn't recognize her. A quick thought caused her to grab her dark-green longcoat and throw it over her dress. Let her surprise Parker. She may hate dresses, and would rather Parker not see it, but Parker deserved to give her a few jibes. She somehow managed to get the coat on without dropping the package, or tripping. With a clicking sound from her heels, she raced down the halls, hoping she wasn't late.
A quick jump propelled her onto a banister, and she slid in style down a winding set of stairs. Why there were so many stairs in this place to begin with was one question that would never be answered. Stairs that led to nowhere, stairs that lead to everywhere, stairs that only appeared on a full moon...The place was looney. Everyone here was looney. But that's why she loved it. She pushed herself off the banister before she hit the post at the end and ran to the Great Hall.
Skidding to a halt, she paused to catch herself, and run her fingers through her hair to straighten it out so it wasn't so wild. True, it was always wild, but she did manage to tame it a bit. Taking a deep breathe, she entered the hall just as Parker started in on her song. Before she was noticed, she slid against the wall, listening to Parker's majestic voice, accompanied by the lazy yet energizing tone of her guitar, float through the hall. So Parker had gotten here before her. damn. Kara made a quick face then listened to the lyrics. Unless she was just trying to be melodramatic, like always- she would kill Kara if she heard that! -or she was seriously thinking about something. Rather, someone. Kara became lost in thought as she listened to the notes.
She jolted out of the state of daydreaming as Parker noticed her. She recovered quickly. "What do I think? I think you could so put all of those so-called 'singing wonders' to shame!" She gave a huge grin, honest in every way. "Though you're going to lose your voice, screeching like that, you boy-crazy wonder!" Alright, she was so going to get a smack for that. But the expression on her face told her best friend that she was just joking. She crossed over to Parker and embraced her then shoved the lumpy package into Parker's arms. "Happy birthday, ya brat. Hopefully now that you're an adult in the Wizarding world, you'll be more responsible!" She was still grinning and took the moment to look around.
Parker and her were the first there. Surprising, Remus hadn't arrived yet. As always, the thought of her boyfriend caused her heart to do jumping jacks. She hoped he arrived soon, she so wanted to see his eyes bug out at the sight of her in a dress. In fact, that reminded her... Ever so casually, like it was an everyday thing, she shrugged out of her coat and placed it on a chair, baring herself in a dress for all the world to see. Still casually, she glanced at Parker for her expression, for she should recognize this dress. After all, she gave it to her as a gift! This would be one hell of a reaction, and Kara wished she had a camera with her. Maybe she could recollect it later. For now, it was party time!
